The venue runs as a cost neutral venue in that all tier costs are covered by revenue raised within SL. The venue is not simply a venue like other live performance venues in SL, it is also the base for ACC/AML which has revenue streams that are generated from other events that include FlyGearZ region events & Calas-FlyGearZ events. We base venue success on a profitable running cost for ACC/AML as a whole rather than on patronage head count at the club… In saying that, we are extremely grateful for our loyal patronage as we only run events at Alley Catz Club for you.
Alley Catz Club live music and dance venue is one of SL’s first PBR venues (Feb 2024). The PBR materials and reflection probes used in the venue, not only to compliment each other, they also work together to give you that feel of realism as if you are walking into a Real Life club with a cosmos theme. If wearing PBR clothing or accessories they will react to the effects of the venue.
Alley Catz Club had its first inception in March 2022. Since then it has gone through a number of changes and a lot of tweaks. Quite a number of minor rebuilds have occurred over that time. With a significant rebuild in June 2024 when the venue was converted to have a cosmos theme. The build is known as “Beyond The Singularity”. Mareth (Lilith Lupindo) is the prime mover behind all these changes.
Further modifications were made in early 2025 with a significant amount of work put into the performance engines that drives the venue automation, moving elements, experiences and effects. This probably makes the venue one of the more complex MST Show Tools venues in SL.
Low resolution fallback textures were applied to the core build in October 2025 as we felt we should cater for those using none supported PBR viewers. There is a comparison image below to see the difference. Lilith makes no apologies for using low resolution fallback texturing as Blinn-Phong materials are a way older technique of texture creation and rendering. By using limited fallback textures she can keep the venue rendering costs down for people on older PC’s and reduce the VRam load for all users to as low as possible.
Mareth has become a leader in the field of PBR implementation and continues to amaze with her talent. The venue is JP’s Alley Catz home providing him with a platform to sing in SL at his own venue. It is also the base of operation for Mareth’s roles as FlyGearZ Estate Administrator & Production Manager, along with her involvement in MetaHarpers Immersive Theater.
This page and any other pages related to Alley Catz Club or Ascension Media & Lighting are maintained and managed by Mareth with JP making minor changes when needed. It should therefore be noted, JP as a singer is different to JP as a co-owner of the Alley Catz Club/Ascension Media & Lighting (ACC/AML).
The venue build uses PBR Materials and PBR Reflection Probes and is optimized for low lag, in saying that anyone who is running a low end computer will find they may encounter significant FPS drops due to the performance engines and lighting system.
Upon arrival all visitors will be greeted by the security system in local chat. This is the only time automated messages are generally issued as we do not like to SPAM chat throughout a performance. It is important that you do read this as it does provide information you will probably want to know.
The only other time we will generate an automated message is when we intend to run a Performance Engine for a given song to provide a fully immersive performance that generally requires you to be seated on a dance pad too allow control of your camera.
February 2024 Update: Alley CatZ Club has a new EEP and now supports PBR. Mareth has incorporated PBR Reflection Probes and a newly created PBR Materials in the venue build. The new EEP is similar to Midnight, yet different as it alters a fair number of the elements to still provide the venue with a unique esthetic.
May 2024 Update: The Club now does not contain Blinn-Phong fallback when PBR is used. This means for anyone using a non-supported viewer those components will either look White or Grey depending on your Environment settings. We advise that you should always “Use Shared Environment” when at our venue.
The venue opened on the 6th May 2022 and is managed by Mareth (Lilith Lupindo) under the umbrella of Ascension Media & Lighting.
The club is powered by;
- MetaHarpers Show Tools, Choreo HUD Immersive Theater
- DenPaMic Follow Spotlight (Full integration with MST Show Tools Performance Engine)
- Paragon Dance Animations
- SasTech Kiosk.Net
- TIS StreamSync Lighting
- TIS Hybrid Dance Machine
When Mareth is running her dance HUD you can dance on her HUD by sitting on Dance Pads (they will only be rezzed when Mareth’s HUD is connected to the venues dance performance engine.

The Singularity & Beyond The Singularity
What is The Singularity, is a joint ACC/AML & FlyGearZ Immersive PBR experience. It was unveiled on 31st August 2024 on the FlyGearZ Watyre region. For details please visit this LINK
Beyond The Singularity is the ACC/AML home venue, known as Alley Catz Club. This venue although different from The Singularity does incorporate elements and effects that were used in The Singularity as they are developed and pilot tested here.

Note: Some components do not have fallback and will therefore look white to those not using a PBR supported viewer. For PBR Materials that Mareth created, the fallback textures are using a down scaled 512×512 associated diffuse texture. Using these down scaled textures reduces the unnecessary rendering load for those using PBR support viewers or anyone using older PC’s who are running an non PBR supported viewer.
Venue Community
We are focused on making everyone feel welcome regardless of if your a regular patron or not. Sometimes local chat may be busy with banter and conversation, feel free to join in and enjoy yourself. At other times it may be fairly silent as people simply enjoy each others company while dancing and listening to music.
We (JP and Mareth) do try to make everyone feel welcomed and part of the community of Alley Catz. All we ask is that you follow a few policies we have listed below denoted in RED and keep any drama outside of the venue.
Venue Operational Hours
The venue will not run events that CLASH with Live shows at any venue JP is performing at or any FlyGearZ events Mareth is involved in.
The venue operates on a limited performance model of only a single hour (Monday) & (Saturday) in the AM SLT period and Biweekly on Thursday’s in the PM SLT period. Events are published in the google calendar & in SL Events.
We do not intend to extend hours of operations as the primary focus of the venue is for JP to sing at and as a base for ACCAML. We will also never seek out performers to sing at the venue.
(Times are subject to change based on RL commitments)
Monday 3am – 4am SLT (One hour) : JP – Dress Code = Semi-Formal preferred however is optional
Biweekly Thursday’s 8pm – 9pm (One hour) : JP – Dress Code = Casual or Semi-Formal – This event will so relocate too FlyGearZ as a ACCAML & FlyGearZ collaboration event. It will also likely see a change in time and day.
Saturday 3am – 4am SLT (One hour): JP – Dress Code = Casual
As part of all performances at our club we provide a fully immersive experience for all. The venue uses its own Shared Environment to enhance the lighting which is an integral part of the experience at the club. Ascension Media & Lighting is an Alley Catz Club service that operates the lighting in real time for a given performance.
Although the venue is co-owned by JPeabody and Mareth (Lilith Lupindo), Mareth manages the venue and all operational inquiries should be directed to her.
Venue Access
- Agent limit on the region is 40 as this is mainland. For special events we can organise with LL to have the agent limit raised to 80, this does however need to be pre-organised as LL do need to schedule a change on the region.
- You agree to the Linden Lab Snapshot and Machinima Policy and automatically provide consent under section (b) when here. We openly encourage people to take and share photographs or Machinima taken at the venue.
- Agents (avatars) need to keep their script and memory usage no greater than 100 scripts/5MB. We generally DO NOT enforce this as we believe all SL users should be responsible enough to understand basic principles of how ones agent resources impact other users and keeping them low as possible is just basic community common sense. We can however, activate the system to enforce it.
Venue Suspension
It is the discretion of Venue management to suspend access to the venue if we deem a violation of the SL community standards has or our Venue Codes of Conduct & Dress Code and None Adult Avatars portion of our policies are breached. A suspension period is as long as we deem necessary.
A permanent BAN is unlikely, in saying that, if you are banned at FlyGearZ or Calas regions it is likely you will end up banned at ACC/AML due to Mareth’s association with those regions.
Venue Code of Conduct & Dress Code
- NO NUDITY and NO BDSM TYPE CLOTHING, use common sense. Come dressed in casual to formal or even themed such as steampunk, cyberpunk, sci-fi, fantasy, even come in non human form or what ever avatar appearance you prefer. Monday performances we prefer semi-formal, however we do not enforce this as a dress code.
- No aggression, harassing, trolling etc of others.
- No wearing RP combat meters, no forced RLV/RLVa capture/posing of others & no Bloodlines or Progeny systems.
- Keep your “play toys” at home, for example spankers, particle exploders etc.
Conversations Adult in Nature between Couples
Couples are to keep conversations that are Adult in nature between themselves in IM.
None Adult Avatars
It is the responsibility of all to refrain from involving oneself in any local banter that is NOT PG in nature between Adult and Child or Teen avatars. Anyone participating in any such inappropriate banter who do not cease when warned will be ejected.
To make things clear here, it is a SL TSO violation to participate in any kind of Age-play, we DO NOT believe it is our responsibility to police this, that is LL’s responsibility between you as the user and them as the service provider. We will however not allow it to occur within our venue.
