Ascension Lighting – An Alley Catz Club Service

This is our Business brand and is responsible for the management of our venue “Alley Catz Club” and the Lighting service we offer to 3rd parties which the rest of this page covers.

Firstly, why use Ascension lighting for your event when you could buy your own system. There are three key factors here.

  1. The overall cost to purchase the system is significantly high, its not $100’s of lindens, we have invested over $40,000L into the various products that make up our infrastructure. So you need to ask yourself is that kind of outlay justifiable, especially if its for a one time event or will rarely be used.
  2. To build rigs does require more than simple REZ skills, this is even more important if you want to customize the fixtures link sets or sizes.
  3. Learning how to program some of the lighting does require knowledge of how the commands effect the fixtures, specifically the moving lights and lasers.

These are the key factors as to why Alley Catz Club has made available this service under the Ascension Lighting brand. We have tried to provide several options that are cost effective and will cater for the needs of most who are seeking that extra immersion for their event/party.

Additionally, if you add in extras like a Hybrid dance machine, dance pads and an effects floor. You can easily see your outlay in $L’s increase exponentially. Especially if you don’t have a large volume of both couples and single dance animations. As an example we have 69 couples dances loaded in the TIS Hybrid, this equates to approx $21,000L worth of animations. That is not even counting the cost of single dance animations that are currently loaded which are just a subset of the ones we can load.

Lets convert the total $61,000L figure discussed above to RL money would see an out lay of approx $285usd.

We use the TIS lighting system line of products.

All events where Ascension Lighting provides lights will see a Information board REZZED, this board must remain REZZED at all times while a Rig is REZZED as it provides IMPORTANT information and a WARNING for those who suffer from photosensitive Psychogenic or Epileptic seizures.

This board also has a built in announcer that will welcome each individual with a message that also includes some important information. The welcome component can be customized for your event on request. It is anti-spam friendly and will only issue a message to a unique avatar once.

It is recommended that our custom EEP is applied to the land for the duration of the event as this will provide the best experience.

There are currently 5 options available and they are listed based on cost from Low to High. Options 1 & 2 with the RED banners are the most cost effective options, option 4 is for major functions/events only. We also suggest you look at Addon options.

NOTE: We do not supply a TIP Jar system as part of our service nor do we accept tips during an event since our costs are covered by our booking (non-refundable) and operations fees.

Option 1:~ Ascension Standalone Systems (NEW)

This by far is the most cost effective option when you want to host an event at your own venue.

There is a $250L booking fee to be paid at the time of the booking (no refund on cancellation).

Event operation cost is $400L to be paid prior to your event commencing and $250L per 30 minute block after the first hour.

NOTE: At the discretion of Ascension Lighting, we may also include Addon Options 1 & 2 (no additional fee).

Ascension Lighting remains the owner of the system, we will however under our discretion leave it REZZED if you wish and grant access to both the StreamSync and iControl Professional devices for a period no greater than 12 months. Any additional support such as changing programs/settings or training on how to use these devices by us will be charged at $250L for the first hour and then $250L per 30 minute block.

If you return or ask for the system to be DE-REZZED it is to be considered a termination.

This will require a single Centre Point and at least one Performance Engine to be REZZED, these are single LI objects that are used to REZ. Additionally the lighting server needs to be REZZED and DEEDED to the land group, so group access with REZ and DEED abilities is required. All These devices need to remain REZZED while the system is REZZED.

Currently there are two floor systems that can be used.

ACC-Wall & Pillars (coming soon)

ACC-Square – requires an area 28.1 x 25.3

This was built for use at the Alley Catz Club when the stage is between theme designs.

Flyte-FG – requires an area 48×80

Initially built for one of the FlyGearZ sky venues and first used on Saturday 3rd June 2023. Prior to rezzing it can be reduced down to a 48×50 area by commenting out certain elements in the engine.

FlyGearZ Venue Not Included

Option 2:~ 3rd Party Alley Catz Club Bookings

This is the most cost effective option when you want more than just the Auroar Floor option as your making a booking to use our venue. NOTE: If you want agent limit to be higher than 44, we do require a minimum of 7 days notice as we do need to log a ticket with LL to have them increase the limit for the given date.

There is a $1,000L booking fee to be paid at the time of the booking (no refund on cancellation).

Event operation cost is $500L to be paid prior to your event commencing and $250L per 30 minute block after the first hour.

Option 3:~ Ascension Venues – SkyRig (Not available – currently undergoing a rebuild)

This lighting rig includes a floor and requires a 50×50 area. It is designed to be REZZED in the sky, however it can also be on land or over water. There are several different configurations that can be used depending on available free LI. If all options are REZZED, it consumes just under 1,000 LI.

Unlike the Aurora Floor System or a custom build, this build will be DE-REZZED after the event.

There is a non-refundable booking fee of $1,500L to lock in a date/time of your event.

Operation cost during the event is a $1,000L base fee paid prior to REZ and $250L per 30 minute block after the first hour

A single Centre Point and at least four Performance Engines are need to be REZZED, these are single LI objects that are used to REZ the build. Additionally the lighting server needs to be REZZED and DEEDED to the land group, so group access with REZ and DEED abilities is required.

There is no charge for the time to REZ prior to the event and De-REZ after the event as this is covered by the booking fee.

Option 4:~ Ascension Venues – SkyCube

This venue is a clone of our Alley Catz Club, requires a 56.9×47.7 area to REZ.

It is designed to be REZZED in the sky, however it can also be on land or over water. There are several different configurations that can be used depending on available free LI. If all options are REZZED, it consumes just under 1,100 LI.

Addons 1 & 2 are included.

Stage curtain can be closed and a central circular stage configuration REZZED.

Unlike the Aurora Floor System or a custom build, this build will be DE-REZZED after the event as we DO NOT allow our Club Venue build to remain REZZED at other parcels.

There is a non-refundable booking fee of $1,000L to lock in a date/time of your event.

Operation cost during the event is a $3,000L base fee paid prior to REZ, this covers up to 3 hours of a function/event, additional hours are $500L per 1 hour block.

Between the booking fee and initial operations cost the combined minimum fee is $4,000L. Yes, its not cheap and there is a reason why, this is our premium build designed specifically for maximum experience and is targeted for functions/events. It also takes time to REZ and go through each lighting channel to ensure everything is working as it should.

A single Centre Point and at least four Performance Engines are need to be REZZED, these are single LI objects that are used to REZ the build. Additionally the lighting server needs to be REZZED and DEEDED to the land group, so group access with REZ and DEED abilities is required.

Option 5:~ Custom One-off Event Builds

We also offer a Custom Built TIS lighting System service at your Venue and/or function for special one-off events. The following are our terms as there can be a lot of work to do customized one-off builds.

A custom build will see a one-off up front fee of $4,500 – $8,000L (dependent on complexity). 50% to be paid prior to commencing the Build and the balance prior to REZ. There is also a minimum of 30 days notice required for custom builds.

This fee is to cover the time it takes to construct a unique build. This does not include the operation cost during the event. These are a $500L base fee paid prior to REZ and $250L per 30 minute block after the first hour, there is no charge for the time to REZ as this is covered in the build costs.

Ascension Lighting remains the owner of the build, we will however under our discretion leave it REZZED if you wish and grant access to both the StreamSync and iControl Professional devices. Any additional support such as changing programs/settings or training on how to use these devices by us will be charged at $250L for the first hour and then $250L per 30 minute block.

If you return or ask for the build to be DE-REZZED it is to be considered a termination and the one-off build may not be available to be REZZED again. If it is still available a new agreement can be reached to REZ the rig again for a one off fee of $200L.

Additionally the lighting server needs to be REZZED and DEEDED to the land group, so group access with REZ and DEED abilities is required. All These devices need to remain REZZED while the Rig is REZZED.

ADDON OPTIONS

These can only be coupled with one of the options above.

Addon 1:~ Hybrid Couples & Singles Dance machine

We can easily REZ this for your event, at last count there is 67 couples dances and over 150 singles dances loaded in the machine.

If required we can also REZ one of two dance pad configurations, this is something that would only be done in rare situations for a special event as it does mean Mareth has to also control the PAD’s via her Dance HUD in addition to operating the lighting.

Addon 2:~ Effects Floor (NEW)

There is an additional nonrefundable booking fee of $500L (discounted to $250L when coupled with the Aurora Floor System option above). This fee includes the creation of a custom effect (if required) for your event that will be included in the sequence of effects.

Addon 3:~ Fire Works (Coming soon)

If these are required for an event they can also be REZZED, however they are generally not automatically added to either a custom build or the Ascension SkyRig.

The height of the fireworks display can be adjusted. Currently, there are the 3 default sequences and I am working on more custom sequences.

  • 1:30 minutes
  • 3:00 minutes
  • 5:00 minutes – This sequence can also include camera movement when dance PAD’s are also REZZED

Addon 4:~ Sensory Panels (Coming soon)

If these are required for an event they can also be REZZED, however they are generally not automatically added to either a custom build or the Ascension SkyRig.

FlyGearZ – Flyte

This service although it falls under the umbrella of Ascension Lighting is not subject to the above fees as Mareth is compensated already with her responsibilities at FlyGearZ.

Mareth as part of the Flyte Crew for FlyGearZ does the lighting for various FlyGearZ dance events. As with the Alley Catz Club, FlyGearZ is often the catalyst for modifying and/or introducing new pre-built builds that become available options above, these are always cheaper options than requesting a custom build.

The best time to see lighting running is either during a FlyGearZ show that incorporates lighting or either the Monday & Friday Club shows, both of these are at 3:00 am SLT.
